Horizontal Rod Holders for Jon Boat

These worked excellent as gunwale rod holders for my 14 aluminum Jon boat. No holes necessary which was critical for this scenario. The only downfall is that they are pretty compact to actually be able to support 3-6 rods. Even for smaller trout tackle they are optimized at two rods.

    Rod Holders

Absolutely love it. I'm actually using these to hold my cleaning brushes inside my 2025 32ST Contender. I didn't want to drill holes so these were the perfect solution. Highly recommend them.

    Love These Rod Holders

Great addition to the boat. My two sets hold at least 4 rods each as well as a place for my anchor light and lure retriever. They hold well with a few pumps every time I use the boat.

    Rod Holder Review

I put the rod holders in my 16’ aluminum fishing boat to get them out of the way so they won’t get broke.n. The holders worked great, they did move or slip. I would highly recommend them.

FAQS

If you are somewhere hot enough to melt the vacuum mount, get inside immediately because death is imminent. All SeaSucker vacuum mounts have UV inhibitors built right in, so they’re made to last. However, UV rays eventually break down almost any sort of rubber or plastic, so store your SeaSuckers out of the sun when not in use for longer life.

SeaSucker’s line of marine accessories all attach with our powerful-yet-easy-to-use vacuum mounts. Just remove the protective cover, press the vacuum mount onto a clean surface, pump until the orange indicator band disappears, and pat yourself on the back for a job well done. You should be able to install just about any SeaSucker product in less than a minute.

In addition to selling complete vacuum mounts that you could swap in for one that’s been damaged, we also sell replacement parts such as new vacuum pads and pumps.

“Strong like bull.” 4.5” vacuum mounts have a rated pull strength of 120lbs, pulling straight out from center. Pull strength on a shear load, i.e. pulling from the side, will be less. 6” vacuum mounts are 210lbs rated. Obviously, putting multiple vacuum mounts on a single product multiplies the maximum holding power.

There’s no set time limit on our vacuum mounts. It depends in part on the surface you attach to, the condition of the vacuum mount, the load you put on it, and other factors. As for surfaces to attach to, vacuum mounts in general were designed to carry big sheets of glass and other solid surface materials, so smoother, flatter surfaces are ideal. Clean surfaces and clean SeaSuckers go a long way to maximizing the hold time. In any event, if the vacuum mount begins to lose some vacuum, it will warn you so you can get it back to full power before it comes off. The vacuum pump’s plunger will extend from the pump cylinder when it starts to lose power, revealing an orange indicator band. Once you see orange, that’s your cue to repump your SeaSucker. For car racks, the simplest thing to do is to check the rack before you get in your vehicle, and check it each time you stop for gas, food, or the bathroom.

Our products can hold on some non-slip/non-skid surfaces. The deeper or more pronounced the texture, the harder it is to maintain a vacuum.  Diamond cut non-skid surfaces in particular are not good to mount on, but most other non-skid surfaces work just fine.

Yes, as long as it’s non-porous. Wood by its very nature is porous, so to safely mount a SeaSucker to it, the wood in question must have a smooth, non-porous coating or finish.

We recommend that you clean the vacuum pad and then attach the protective cover that came with it at purchase. It’s also a good idea to store it out of the sun to give the plastic parts a break from UV exposure.

Clean off any surface dirt from the mounting surface before attaching your SeaSucker. While you’re at it, make sure the sealing edge of the vacuum pad is clean too. You don’t have to clean the mounting surface with alcohol wipes, as one overly-enthusiastic customer told us they do, but a quick wipe with a wet paper towel or napkin wouldn’t hurt. Let us make it easy for you: get one of our Cleaning Kits.

Some of our products are easily swapped. For instance, we sell our phone holder as an add-on for people who already have our iPad mount or action camera mount. For things like rod holders, cup holders, bike racks, etc., we don’t sell the component parts so you’ll have to buy the complete product.

No, the HDPE and the raw materials we use to manufacture our vacuum mounts all have a high-performance UV inhibitor built in. Your SeaSucker products should look good for years.

SeaSucker products aren’t meant to be a permanent addition to your boat. One of the best features of our vacuum mounts is the ability to quickly remove it, get it out of the way, or put it somewhere more convenient. Vacuum mounts in general won’t hold vacuum forever. They will lose vacuum over time, but fortunately our products have a built-in indicator band that lets you know when they need attention.

Use this text to share information about your brand with your customers. DescriEvery SeaSucker vacuum mount has an indicator band right on the plunger. When the vacuum mount starts losing vacuum, the plunger will begin to extend. When it extends far enough that you can see the orange band, it’s time to re-pump. Unlike traditional suction cups, with SeaSucker, you don’t have to take it off and lick it (unless you’re into that sort of thing, and we don’t judge) to revive it.be a product, share announcements, or welcome customers to your store.

The orange indicator band is a visual representation of how much vacuum power your cup has. Once you start to see the orange indicator band, that means it’s time to pump your product back up!
